判决之后才算数。在此之前,他们原则上还保有一个公民的基本
权利,所以治安和检察机关要从法院拿到warrant (an official writ

court ,body or official or the research of someone’s home , 页231) ,即逮捕证(令) 或搜查证(令) ,才能收押犯罪嫌疑人或搜查犯罪嫌疑人
的住处,否则即属非法,所得证据无效。典型的例子是不久前的辛
普森一案。《术语》把这个词译成了“委任状、许可证”。后者尚可,
前者大谬。
